DECORATIVE ART
Terra cotta pots are fun to paint and they add a nice touch to a home décor. These painted pots are always a huge hit and make great gifts with a holiday plant or herbs inside. Use acrylic paint and techniques of free-form color with gilding and lettering, and painted decoration employing classic designs. Materials list provided upon registration.

Create decorative painted papers covered in colorful ribbons, swirls and textures of color. Bring an attitude for fun and a curiosity for exploration of colors and shapes and a desire to let go and paint like Jackson Pollack! Introduction exercises warm you up and quickly get you started. Each groovy painted paper created is an original work of art achieved by the individual movements of your arm, wrist and hand. The more you do, the more inspired, confident and experimental you become. Ideal for book covers, cards and boxes. All materials and supplies included. You may bring tools that make textural marks, canvas bags, aprons, luggage, etc. No previous experience required.

Combine the effects of drawing or calligraphy with bleach on luscious black paper embellished with pastels and colorful foils. The results are dramatic and visually exciting! Demonstrations include techniques for successful, controlled work with pastels, foil application, textures and effects with bleach. Personal attention and lots of samples ensures your success. Complete a minimum of two pieces of art.

Learn the basics while creating works of art. Complete 3projects using a variety of techniques working with broken tiles, dishes and stained glass. Bring a hammer, the object of your choice to mosaic; a box, tray, table top, vase, wide picture frame, flower pot, etc. (made of terra cotta, glass, metal, ceramics, cement or wood) and the tiles or dishes to break. A materials list for the second and third projects will be distributed in class. Class will not meet on November 25.

Using paint, sparkles, text, photos and colorful grout, create a one of a kind collage applied to shattered glass on a picture frame. Tempered glass has unique properties that add a new twist on an old art form. It is the perfect medium to permanently incorporate printed imagery, collage and mosaic. Complete 2 projects in this 2-day workshop. The second meeting will be one hour shorter than the first.
