INTRODUCTION TO PALETTE KNIFE PAINTING
Forget the brush and let’s slap some paint on a canvas. A palette knife can be used for much more than mixing paint. Recreate a subject, using Lovejoy’s scraping knife style. You will learn about color, and positive/negative spaces. Explore the simplicity of laying blocks of solid color and building the details using bold strokes. This is a very fun and expressive painting style. Ideal for beginners as well as advanced painting students. Select from a Butterfly, Dragonfly, Sea Turtle, Seahorse or Hummingbird. Due to the scraping method, paint will splatter so please wear clothing you won't mind getting paint on. Work at your own pace. Acrylic paint, palette knife, mixing plate, a painting panel and snacks will be provided. Feel free to bring a beverage to enjoy. Class will be held in Lovejoy’s studio.
