FINE ART

We have reopened our Beech Street Studio! Following the Covid-19 guidance from our state and local leaders, and to keep everyone’s safety and good health in mind, we have some very stringent protocols in place. Class size is limited to 4 or 5 students and, when possible, class may be held outdoors. Masks are to be worn at all times. You may register for Art classes or purchase gift certificates for future art classes.

SPLATTER PAINTING, JACKSON POLLOCK STYLE Ages 7 - Adult

In the style of Jackson Pollock, who was famous for producing art by splattering paint, you can drip, dribble and drag acrylic paint across a canvas. Let loose and have fun expressing yourself with this simple abstract method. There is something incredibly therapeutic about watching your art emerge as you splash paint onto canvas.

PAINT LANSCAPES WITH OILS 3 weeks

In this introductory oil painting class, learn the foundations of using oil paints and mediums. Explore the basics of color mixing by creating your own color wheel and painting a landscape from a photo reference of your own choosing. Practice some basics of composition, blending techniques, painting wet-into-wet, and how that differs from applying glazes over dry paint. Supply list provided upon registration.

MANDALA PAINTING

Tap into your creativity in this interactive personal growth art workshop. The word ‘mandala’ is a Sanskrit word meaning “circle” or “center”. Many different cultures around the world use mandalas in their spiritual practice and when you create your own, think of it as an echo of your soul. Learn basic steps to draw the Mandala, such as sketching the outlines, painting with acrylic and using a dotting technique. Drawing and coloring a mandala can be a highly enriching personal experience in which you look inside yourself and find the shapes, colors and patterns to represent anything from your current state of mind to your most deeply-desired wish for yourself, for a loved one, or for humanity.

MAGIC OF COLOR AND ITS APPLICATION | A Fun Art Project

Experience a new approach to color theory and color mixing, through playing and learning. Explore this mixed-media project where drawing is combined with painting. Learn about the primary and complimentary colors and how to create beautiful grey without using black. Receive a good understanding of how to use color in art making. Create an easy charcoal drawing (yes easy and fun), and apply it all to your final colorful project. You’ll be guided step-by-step in this workshop which is good for all skill levels. Fall in love with your art.

ART STUDIO ON DEMAND

Don’t have space to create at home? Take advantage of Bravo’s Beech Street Studio creative space. Our tables and easels provide plenty of room for you to spread out to work.

Bring your unfinished projects and work in Bravo's studio. We may (or may not) provide guidance, suggestions, opinions or simply provide you a place to work. Work on your painting, drawing, mosaic, weaving, collage, mixed media, printmaking, etc. Bring your own supplies. Stay as long as you like. Advanced reservations are required.

Only $10 an hour. Pay by the hour. Tell us when you want to come

PAINTIN' PARTY!

With Covid protocols in place, unless participants are of the same houshold, we are limited in our studio to seating only 4 people, and we cannot run this class. If you have a group of 6 or more and everyone wants to share tables and sit close, we may consider teaching for your group.

Create an easy painting inspired by a master’s art. Paint step-by-step and create a masterpiece on canvas. Enjoy a time out with your friends, or on your own, and make some art. Be amazed at the artwork you create and the memory of a fun-filled time. For the artistic and not so artistic. No special talent or experience required; only a willingness to have a good time. Feel free to bring your favorite beverage or snacks. Cups and corkscrew are available for your use.

You may schedule your own Private Paintin' Party, with 6 or more friends or co-workers. Select a date and inquire if the studio and the instructor are available. Choose from any of the paintings below and contact Bravo School of Art to reserve your own Private Paintin' Party. A great way to spend time with your friends!
