Wondering what do all the buttons and settings on your camera do? Most point-and-shoot cameras have limited controls. Learn to leverage the controls at your disposal to produce significantly improved photographs using your basic camera. Explore topics such as camera fundamentals, ISO, white balance and lighting, and exposure controls. Please bring your camera with its manual, memory card and a charged and/or spare battery. Produce stunning displayable images! As a photographer, concentrate on just the tools and methods needed to accomplish traditional tasks, in the simplest and easiest step-by-step lessons. Learn to import images, name files, organize and store, process RAW or JPEG files, resize and crop images, proper resolution settings for email and print, color correct and prep for printing, and perhaps the most fun of all, learn to retouch! Make unwanted objects vanish and realistic cosmetic procedures on portraits with the click or two of a mouse. Please have some experience with an advanced point-n-shoot or DSLR camera that captures images in RAW format. You must bring a laptop to each class with at least Adobe Photoshop CS2, CS3, or CS4 or Photoshop Elements installed. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY FOR SLR CAMERAS
A Digital Single Lens Reflex camera (DSLR) camera has all the controls to produce stunning photographs, though most DSLR users use their camera in Automatic mode and lose all creative control of their photography. Regain your creativity and improve your camera skills! Explore all basic camera controls; ISO, aperture and shutter speeds and reading your histogram for exposure control, white balance and lighting, composition, and shooting in RAW vs. JPEG modes. Please bring your camera with its manual, memory card and a charged and/or spare battery. If possible, please bring your laptop.
