HAND WOVEN LAVENDER SACHET

Learn how to weave fragrant lavender sachets using a portable hand-held loom. Warp the loom, weave a small piece of fabric, fill with freshly dried organic lavender or other herbs, and stitch it closed. A variety of embellishments will be provided for decoration. Also learn how to dry your own lavender and how to strip the buds to make potpourri. These sachets make GREAT gifts!!! You may also use the sachets in linen drawers or inhale during stressful moments to soothe and relax. As a wonderful traveling project, the loom can easily fit in your purse. The fabric can also be used for lavender lapel pins, pin-cushions, and amulet necklaces. The loom is yours to keep.

WEDDING CHUPPAH SQUARE

Invite your local friends and family to be a part of creating a very special chuppah for your wedding day. You will each turn a plain square of fabric into a meaningful work of art that sends a special wish or message of support to the happy couple. Ideas, paint, fabric, thread, stamps and fabric pens will be provided. Decorated squares will ultimately be sewn together to create a beautiful patchwork chuppah, symbolizing the couples first home. Share this creative time together and incorporate into your ceremony, the people most important to you. These squares will hold incredible meaning to treasure throughout your marriage!

Gourds have been used in many cultures across the continents and throughout the centuries. They were used as utilitarian vessels as well as expressions of art. Learn how to choose, clean and cut your gourd. Then, express yourself in dying, painting, wood-burning and embellishing your one-of-a-kind gourd. You may make a bowl, birdhouse or a covered container. A demonstration of the use of basket weaving techniques for decorating gourds will also be included.

Learn how to make quick and easy baskets using scraps of fabric! Fabric baskets make beautiful home decorations and gifts. They’re also a clever way to use up scraps of fabric, old clothes or yarn. Delight your children by turning their outgrown clothing into keepsake baskets. This is a great project for quilters who want to use up fabric. Fabric baskets can also be a very healing project for anyone who has lost a loved one, by making a "memory basket" out of their clothing. Please bring scissors and a sack lunch.
