PHOTOSHOP FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

John Thurston

This workshop is for those who have reached a point in their photography where they want to go beyond picking up the packet of prints at the drug store and hiding them away in a shoebox. You will finally be able to produce stunning displayable images! Concentrate on just the tools and methods needed as a photographer to accomplish traditional tasks, in the simplest and easiest step-by-step lessons. Learn to import images, name files, organize and store, process RAW or JPEG files, resize and crop images, proper resolution settings for email and print, color correct and prep for printing, and perhaps the most fun of all, learn to retouch! Make unwanted objects vanish and realistic cosmetic procedures on portraits with the click of a mouse (or two). Please have some experience with an advanced point and shoot or DSLR camera that captures images in RAW format. You must bring a laptop to each class with Adobe Photoshop CS2, preferably CS3, or CS4 or Photoshop Elements installed. Optional readings are The Digital Photography Book 1, 2 or 3 by Scott Kelby, Peach Pit Publishers approx $10 on Amazon. Please purchase the required textbook: Scott Kelby's Adobe Photoshop CS3 for Digital Photographers, New Riders Publishers. Approximately $20 on Amazon.com
