DECORATIVE ART
MOSAIC 6 weeks
Learn the basics while creating 3 works of mosaic art using a variety of techniques. Work with broken tiles, dishes and stained glass. Please bring a hammer, the object of your choice to mosaic; a box, tray, table top, vase, wide picture frame, flower pot, etc. (made of terra cotta, glass, metal, ceramics, cement or wood) and the tiles or dishes to break. A materials list for the second and third projects will be distributed in class.

In this 2-part workshop, learn the basics of mosaic while creating a work of art. Bring a hammer, the object of your choice to mosaic; a box, plate, table top, vase, wide picture frame, flower pot, etc. (made of terra cotta, glass, metal, ceramics, cement or wood) and the tiles or dishes to break in class. In the first meeting, students will break, design and apply their broken pieces. Grout at the second meeting.

More mosaic fun! In this exciting 2-part workshop, learn how to cut stained glass and combine it with mosaic techniques to produce fabulous light gathering objects of art. Bring a pair of clean canvas shoes and express yourself by decorating them with acrylic paint. Sneakers provide a great surface to cover with color, pattern, words and images. Transform your feet into an art gallery.

Give new life to those inexpensive stackable resin chairs by turning them into a work of art. Create a beautiful, decorative chair by painting color, pattern, shapes, texture, lines, flowers, animals, etc., on the surface. No previous painting experience necessary. Clean & prime chairs at least 24 hours before class. Priming instructions provided upon registration.

LAMPSHADE MAKING
Design and create your own custom small square or hexagonal lampshade of fabric laminated onto styrene sheets. This style of fabric shade is made without sewing! Add decorative finishes like beads, ribbon, lace and coordinating fabrics. The options are endless! Easy and fun to make, you will be happily surprised at how professional looking your shade turns out! An hour break for lunch will give your project time to dry while prepping for the next steps.
