DECORATIVE ART
MOSAIC 6 weeks
Learn the basics while creating 3 works of mosaic art using a variety of techniques. Work with broken tiles, dishes and stained glass. Please bring a hammer, the object of your choice to mosaic; a box, tray, table top, vase, wide picture frame, flower pot, etc. (made of terra cotta, glass, metal, ceramics, cement or wood) and the tiles or dishes to break. A materials list for the second and third projects will be distributed in class. Class will not meet February 23 and March 15.

In this 2-part workshop, learn the basics of mosaic while creating a work of art. Bring a hammer, the object of your choice to mosaic; a box, plate, table top, vase, wide picture frame, flower pot, etc. (made of terra cotta, glass, metal, ceramics, cement or wood) and the tiles or dishes to break in class. In the first meeting, students will break, design and apply their broken pieces. Grout at the second meeting.

More mosaic fun! In this exciting 2-part workshop, learn how to cut stained glass and combine it with mosaic techniques to produce fabulous light gathering objects of art. Use of colorful glass, (rather than traditional tile, dishes or smalti) is what makes this workshop a unique experience! Materials list provided upon registration.

ZENTANGLE®

ZENTANGLE® BLISS BRACELET
Creating this decorative bracelet will provide you another fun way to have more Zentangle® patterns in the world around you. You will be provided samples of and guidance through simple applications of acrylic paint on a wooden support. Apply color, patterns and words of a blissful nature (chosen from a list of words and phrases) to make this bracelet uniquely yours. Pre-requisite: experience with Zentangle®.

TEMPERED GLASS MOSAIC
Using paint, sparkles, text, photos and colorful grout, create a one of a kind collage applied to shattered glass on a picture frame. Tempered glass has unique properties that add a new twist on an old art form. It is the perfect medium to permanently incorporate printed imagery, collage and mosaic. Complete 2 projects in this 2-day workshop. The second meeting will be one hour shorter than the first.

AWAKEN YOUR MUSE WITH MANDALA
Explore the never-ending shapes and patterns that form the infinite mandala and learn how to create them with a left brain approach. Use traditional design tools, watercolor pencils, paper and your right brain to create directly from your own mind’s eye. Explore colors and their associations as you discover your personal preferences. Create a group mandala with your classmates and a few on your own. This is a relaxing, fun and enlightening class!

Give new life to those inexpensive stackable resin chairs by turning them into a work of art. Create a beautiful, decorative chair by painting color, pattern, shapes, texture, lines, flowers, animals, etc., on the surface. No previous painting experience necessary. Create your own made of a durable floor vinyl. Traditional floor cloths, dating back before Colonial America, are made of canvas.
