CHILDREN & TEENS
Workshops and classes in art for children are taught by instructors experienced in working with children of all age levels. Some instructors are mult-subject and art specialists with California teaching credentials. All are experienced artists. The class sizes are meant to be small, usually less than 10 students. We place great emphasis on positive feedback and individual creativity while gently guiding students in basic skills. The focus is on the experience, the process and skill building during the steps in making art. The finished product is not the only goal, it is a step along the way in a quest for learning. It is our hope that students will enjoy their experience and be motivated to pursue their own interests.
WORKS OF ART 4 weeks Ages 3 - 6
In this 4-week series, your child will explore freedom of expression through drawing, painting, collage and illustration. The fundamentals of art will be introduced: line, light, color, value, hue, texture, composition, space, and design. Each class will be accompanied by classical music and a lesson in art appreciation where great works of art will be discussed. Student artists will bring their box of art supplies to create in a free-spirited environment. Upon registration, you will be given a list of art supplies for your budding artist for use in the classroom and at home.

PROJECT ART 4 weeks Ages 6 – 11
This 4-week after-school series of art classes is designed to encourage your child’s creative side. Each week students will start and finish a different project designed to explore imagination and/or observation. Students will develop basic drawing skills and learn about color using oil pastel, watercolor and color pencils. Art supplies are provided.

ART LAB 4 weeks Ages 6 – 11
This 4-week after-school series of art classes, led by artist and scenic designer Robin Roberts, may include: fresco painting, recycled art, drawing, printmaking, self-portrait collages and a few surprises. Students will be encouraged to discover their creativity in a nurturing environment and may repeat a session with new projects available. Art supplies are provided.

PAINT YOUR SNEAKERS Ages 8 & up
Bring a pair of clean canvas shoes and express yourself by decorating them with acrylic paint. Sneakers provide a great surface to cover with color, pattern, words and images. Transform your feet into an art gallery.
